Tucson startup NuvOx Pharma expands, adding production line

Founded in 2008 by UA radiologist Dr. Evan Unger, Nuvox developed a novel approach to helping the 795,000 people who suffer from strokes each year in the US.

This year, NuvOx broke ground on an 1,800-square-foot expansion to its downtown headquarters to house a modular clean room manufacturing facility. The facility will be used to manufacture NuvOx drugs, which are in mid-stage clinical trials to treat brain tumors and strokes. Founder Dr. Evan Unger says that the manufacturing facility is one of its kind in Southern Arizona to commercially make drugs for clinical trials.

NuvOx is yet another example of Tucson leading the way in revolutionary medicine and technology.
